Rating 4 out of 5 7 reviews
What I like about Pelham City Schools is that they teach you more than other schools do I my area. They encourage many different learning strategies. Pelham City Schools has some good teachers that I do like. However, Pelham City Schools needs to make improvements in language. Some teachers give excessive amounts of homework and assignments instead of using class time wisely. Pelham City Schools needs to offer more art programs and activities to enhance the curriculum, and more resources need to be dedicated to the music department. Pelham City Schools should also give more incentives for students who consistently make higher grades instead of just rewarding students who make progress.
Something that I like about Pelham High School is the amount that the teachers and staff are willing to help students and make sure that they are on the right track. Something that I would like to see changed about the school system are some of the rules that are in place rules such as tardy, cell phone, earphones rules.
Overall many students do not enjoy their time at Pelham City Schools due to the students and teachers. The curriculum is overall okay, but college or work readiness is not a focus. The main focus is graduating.
