Peaster was a good school if you are very average. They did not offer a lot of extracurricular and were often very limited in academic opportunities as well. The only good thing was that since it was small you could. have a closer relationship with teachers. They also lacked diversity and as a minority, it could be a struggle to fit in or relate to other students.
Peaster High School is amazing. I went to Millsap in elementary and in 4th grade my family moved out to the country. I was scared and didn't want to leave all my friends in Millsap. However when I moved to Peaster, I made so many new friends along with so many new memories. Once I moved up into middle school I took up running on the Cross Country team. Now that I'm a senior in my high school, I've continued to run cross country for 5 years. Many people would say that I'm crazy for waking up before the sun is up just to run, but its what I love. I'm hoping that whatever college I go to, they will have a cross country team so I can continue doing what I love.
Alumni- I went to Peaster from elementary through graduation. The community is mainly rural and white, with increasing focus on athletic achievements rather than academic. The teachers there, especially the math department, do an amazing job at explaining their subjects and making sure to cover all materials. Lately, the focus has been more about having football than building more classrooms for the students, which will take away from the learning environment in the long run. All in all they have many good employees, but very little diversity in people or ideas.
