This is a pretty decent high school with some teachers that you can really connect with, but it's not exceptional.
Very competitive school, with amazing opportunity despite its small size! I love going to Pawling as it offers wonderful class size, had an amazing teaching staff and is very welcoming.
My experience at Pawling Schools has been excellent. Pawling is a small public school and I, therefore, benefited from a close relationship with my teachers. The staff at Pawling schools were very instrumental in building a solid foundation for my primary years. I have been on the Honor Roll for most of my middle and high school years. I participated in Pawling's softball, soccer, and indoor track teams throughout middle school and high school. The coaches assisted in improving my skills and raised the bars for me. As a result, I received an All-League for Varsity Softball and broke the school record for Weight Throw for Varsity Indoor Track.
Great selection of teachers, I'd say for each grade level there isn't more then 1 questionable teacher. The community is great as well, I never had an issue or witnessed any major bullying. The safety is A+ and the disciplinary system is fair. They provide the perfect amount of freedom for each school level and prepare students fairly well for college.
Typical high school experience. Some good people and others not so good. Somewhere I tend to still go and visit every now and then.
Pawling High School provides a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students. For such a small school, it offers rigorous academic courses, as well as a variety of clubs and after-school sports that are bound to gain the interest of the students. The majority of the teaching staff is very knowledgeable and easy to communicate. However, Pawling is not a very diverse school, with the majority of students being white. In addition, the food offered by the school comes in small portions for the price that is paid, and is often not substantial enough to hold students over for the entire school day. There could also be improvement in the facilities, especially the bathrooms, and not enough of the budget is put towards sports, as athletic teams have had to make use of the same equipments for my entire high school career and even before that.
The teachers at the Pawling Central School District (particularly in the high school) are amazing and are invested in their areas. I transferred to Pawling in fourth grade and experienced bullying. The issue was addressed and the school protected me. The teachers in the middle school are average, and my experience wasn't the best because of how strict the school was (and still is). The High School provides many opportunities for everyone. There are a lot of clubs, sports, different classes (including electives) and events. School spirit is overwhelming and the unity is great.
I loved being at PHS, and it prepared me greatly for college, but this is only because I was one of the students who actually tried in school and wanted to excel. The school offers so many opportunities, but only if you seize them.
