Pawling Central School District Reviews
Pawling High School provides a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students. For such a small school, it offers rigorous academic courses, as well as a variety of clubs and after-school sports that are bound to gain the interest of the students. The majority of the teaching staff is very knowledgeable and easy to communicate. However, Pawling is not a very diverse school, with the majority of students being white. In addition, the food offered by the school comes in small portions for the price that is paid, and is often not substantial enough to hold students over for the entire school day. There could also be improvement in the facilities, especially the bathrooms, and not enough of the budget is put towards sports, as athletic teams have had to make use of the same equipments for my entire high school career and even before that.
The teachers at the Pawling Central School District (particularly in the high school) are amazing and are invested in their areas. I transferred to Pawling in fourth grade and experienced bullying. The issue was addressed and the school protected me. The teachers in the middle school are average, and my experience wasn't the best because of how strict the school was (and still is). The High School provides many opportunities for everyone. There are a lot of clubs, sports, different classes (including electives) and events. School spirit is overwhelming and the unity is great.
I loved being at PHS, and it prepared me greatly for college, but this is only because I was one of the students who actually tried in school and wanted to excel. The school offers so many opportunities, but only if you seize them.
