I have been living in Passaic City for almost 5 years now, I was not born here but my experiences here have been fairly nice. The people here are diverse, you will see different people from different backgrounds and nationalities. People here say that immigrants start their journey from Passaic because it feels like their home. Which I think is true. I am an immigrant myself, and when I came here I felt like home because people around are welcoming and know the real meaning of struggle. We all have come here to achieve something from life. Even though I am not here to live my entire life, This place is where I became friends with amazing people and learned many things. I am grateful for Passaic and it's the school to provide me the best teachers and people for guidance. This place will forever have a place in my heart.
Passaic will always be a part of me, no matter what. It's where I have made many of my closest friends. The district isn't bad, but it's definitely nothing to die for. Just like in any district, there are amazing teachers that genuinely care for their students and their success while others simply don't. The school board does not get very involved within the schools and yet they want the kids to thank them. But it's an okay school district. It's what you make of it.
I like the extensive opportunities offered at the high school for community service, pathway focused programs, and more. I appreciate how the teachers care for the students beyond their grades and how open they are to consistent communication and useful feedback that provides constructive criticism.
