My experience as a student at Palisades High school was middle of the road. As a whole, I can fully say most teachers prepared me for college, and most classes that I look were a happy medium between easy and challenging. I say most classes because there were some that I simply got nothing out of except a laugh, and that was due to the teachers' lack of passion. When it came to sports and music/arts, Palisades had a strong community which was always encouraging. However, when it came to facilities, the school was falling apart in some places and I never quite understood why they put funds towards the football team when there were actual holes in the ceiling. Overall, my experience there was average, and I did come out of high school with great memories.

Palisades sports programs are not very strong. That has not bothered me because our music and robotics club/programs are stellar. I am fortunate that the Palisades’ community embraces the importance of music. I have played an instrument since third grade and I hope that science is right when they say that music impacts mental acuity. I have also been a dedicated member of our FIRST Robotics team. It is a group of individuals who want to pursue a career which requires leadership skills and creativity. I am currently the President of the team and I hope that we excel when we go to Worlds this year in Detroit. Besides those music and robotics, my focus has been on taking AP classes and challenging myself. My parents and teachers are very supportive which has helped to make my experience at Palisades a positive experience. One that I know is helping to mold me into a successful aeronautical engineer.
Palisades is a perfectly average school, but it has many underlying problems. The recent issues arising with teachers being problematic and even dangerous to students has really hurt the school's reputation. I graduated before most of these problematic teachers were found out but it still hurts to see that the students were negatively affected. I would like to see the school tighten its' security measures and more carefully review teachers before they are hired so this place of learning can improve.
