Orono Public School District Reviews

Living up to its nickname, Orono the 'public private school' is very dedicated to preparing their students for college and life beyond college. The teachers at Orono Public Schools are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that their students are reaching their maximum potential. These teachers work hard for their students. They come in early, stay late, and help students during passing time. The core subjects, english, math, science, social studies, and world languages have strong and innovative departments with equally strong teachers and leaders.
However, there is always room for improvement. The electives program has potential for growth. The visual arts classes are very simple. To participate in this class the student has to pay a fee for basic art supplies like a sketch book, pencils, erasers, and more. These fundamental things are objects that most students have. So, to have pay tuition at a public school turns a lot of potential students away.

The education and upper level learning opportunities and the teachers are all incredible. The arts program needs more funding and support, though.
I loved attending Orono. While it may not be diverse race-wise, it is diverse in terms of economic standing and the school uses that to its advantage to promote acceptance--since it can't really do it any other ways. I would say I got one of the best public educations in the state there, and I am happy and proud to have graduated from such a prestigious school
