Orangefield is a somewhat poor district in terms of finances. While there are good teachers there, many many teachers are not good at all and do not have the child's best interest at heart. They have to take whomever applies because so few will work for the merger wages. This is across all areas- acedemic, athletic, extra curricular and even administrative to some extent. While I realize teacher pay is not the only factor, it is one of the primary factors. Now as far as the school itself, it is a safe, mostly drug free, environment and much better than any other local school district, in the environment category. Overall the school district balances out, I suppose. It could go from average to outstanding. But with the lack of funding that seems extremely unlikely!
Orangefield is a small but tightly knit community. Here everyone knows your name and you get friendly smiles in the hallway from students, teachers, and staff.
Its a great school I love it honestly. The teachers are amazing I've only had a problem with I few, and the ones that I did have a problem with typically were new and didn't last long. The administration is pretty good too now that we've got a new superintendent. As a graduating senior I can say that this school has defiantly had a huge impact on my life and I don't think I would switch to a new school even if I could. The school is small but not too small the teachers and staff feel more like family to me then just teacher and I'm honestly sad that I have to leave. But it is a school that I would love for my kids to go to and in this area it is the only one that I would recommend to any new comers. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is because when it comes to school spirit we are defiantly lacking. Its not the schools fault its the students we just never really go all out when it comes to that kind of stuff but it would be cool if we did.
