Opelika City Schools as a whole gets a yes from me. Of course they would though when they've thrown ALL of the non Spanish speaking and free and reduced lunch kids into one primary and sister school. None of those parents are going to give reviews anywhere. They're working too hard to show up. Their zoning has to be illegal! Two primary schools get grand fieldtrips while another gets to tour the town. It's great at Carver where the kids are still young, but don't send your kid to West Forrest. The students are older and start to have behavior problems, and the teachers flat out don't care. OPELIKA, REZONE for Christ's sake!
From the beginning of my K-12 education, Opelika City Schools has always provided a challenging curriculum and top notch teachers who offered necessary support in order for me to be successful. Opelika believes in exposing students to the arts and other opportunities that are non-academic. There are resources available to parents also, which bridges that gap between school and home. I feel well prepared for college, due to my 12 academic years within Opelika City Schools.
The experience I have had while attending OCS has been great. I wouldn’t change anything about what I have experienced so far.
