I have currently being enrolled in the Olathe School District for 12 years, and I can say in confidence the OUSD is an amazing district to be apart of in the important years of the youth. This district allows everyone opportunities to be involved in as many groups as they wish. Having as many options to be apart of a group, this enforces kids to find their passions. The earlier a child identifies their passions the sooner they will be on track to succeeding their goals. One thing I would push to change in this district is the way the teachers are required to teach the content. I mean by this, is everyone should be taught the same content, but the way each teacher chooses to deliver the information should be up the students and teacher.
Overall, Olathe School District is an excellent 12 year program you can trust your kids will succeed.

I was enrolled in the Olathe Unified School district from the time I was in Kindergarten in 2002 until I graduated high school in 2015. My time spent with the school district supplied me with ample experience and educational benefits. From having interactive teachers to participating in school sports, I was able to engage in various aspects. I thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with the school district. Thinking back, I do wish I would have been more heavily involved in different clubs and school activities. For future years, I desire to see greater adversitment and encouragement to stay engaged in non-academic activities in school as they prove fruitful in future jobs and education.
I was involved in the olathe public schools for 5 years and my overall experience has been decent. The school is very good at involving the community in athletics, but not other programs. I felt as though the districts highlights the athletic programs more than actually getting good grades. Being that the high schools are 6A, most incoming students are attracted to what the school has to bring athletically. The school did a good job promoting college readiness, however most students left confused. I rarely used my counselor because she often seemed like she did not care about minorities.
