Okoboji Community School District Reviews

Okoboji is a great school district overall! We strive to lead in academics and have a goal to fit each students needs. Technology is very up to date, and our facilities are kept in great shape also. Though, if you are sports-oriented, Okoboji can’t guarantee a winning season unfortunately.

Okoboji does not give enough to the music and theatre department. As band students, we are required to go to football and basketball games, both of which, very few band members care about. When we go on trips for speech, the hotels provided are very sketchy and unsafe. The hotels provided for the sports teams are very nice. If Okoboji gave as much respect to the music and theatre department as it does for the average sports teams, I might have some more respect for Okoboji.

Also mental illness is not talked about nearly as much as it should be, if it is at all, and I know for a fact that some of the people have issues there.
Okoboji is a great school district and I’m so glad to be a part of it. The music program is outstanding and the teachers actually feel like they actually care about you. Making friends in this school is very easy and comforting once you figure out who your people are. Okoboji is a great school to try new things, and figure out what you don’t like as much as you do like.
