Something that I like about my school is how inclusive they are. If you would like to try out for a new sport they will allow you to join and be part of their team even if you haven't played the sport before. They also provide support to the students by always having open-door policies to receive help when you are feeling down. They allow you to test your academic ability by allowing you to take challenging courses like honors, AP, and IB classes. Overall, I enjoy Ocean View High School because they are inclusive and care about their students.
Ocean View high school is a wonderful sized campus, withholding an average of about 1,300 students per year. It's well known for being a close knit community due to the small amount of students. Within the school, students are constantly encouraged to join any program or sport they find interest in, allowing for great opportunities to the students. Class sizes are small, providing the students the ability to stand out and be noticed by the instructors. Teachers on campus are very helpful to the students who reach out for help but also help & assist those who dont ask for assistance, to ensure that they are understanding the curriculum being taught. O.V goes off a bell schedule which allows teachers lengthier periods of time to teach their material & not be overwhelmed with various classes in a single day. They also have embedded tutorial time after every period that students are able to use as either extra break time or an opportunity to ask questions & complete other tasks.
What I like about ocean view high school is that this school helps students to be prepared for college. As a senior I have gotten so much help from the presentations they have been giving out for the fafsa and I don’t believe that many schools offer help in this. Without ocean view helping us throughout the fafsa, I don’t believe I would of been able to complete it. I love the fact that this school has really great teachers and they have helped me throughout the years that I have been here. I never really received help from my old high school teachers like I have gotten here in ocean view high school. I also have gotten involved in the clubs here at ocean view and ocean view has great variety of different clubs for different reasons at this campus. What I don’t like about ocean view high school is the fact that they have the same lunches everyday. They don’t change up the menu at all and haven’t for the years I have attended here at ocean view high school.
