I am currently attending a school within the Northwest Local School District. The school is Northwest High School, it is a great school offering many academic opportunities for students. Including AP courses, CCP, and Honors. There are people who attend the school, of all races, religions, and backgrounds. While this is a good school there is one thing I do think could change. One of these things being the school lunches. Many people (including me) say that the food they serve is an issue since most isnt preferably good. Other than this my experience with Northwest Local School District is very good.
I transferred from a private high school to my local public school in my 4th year of high school. Though it is no fancy, righteous school, it is not horrible like some say. The teachers actually care about your education and the school cares about your attendance, therefore you cannot slack off or skip. The curriculum, though not as rigorous as MND, is still challenging. The food is alright, with some healthy options.
I've been in Northwest Local School District my whole life. Overall I would say I had a good experience going through it but there can always be some improvements made. During my junior year I actually attended some of the Northwest Local School District board meetings and I witnessed some of the important decisions being made. During this time the district was trying to pass a levy that would give the district more money and it was very important at the time because the district was considering cutting athletics and firing teachers in order to be able to pay everyone. As a student athlete at the time, it pained me to hear that they were considering cutting athletics. Playing sports in high school was very important to me and it kept me focused on my academics and it allowed me to grow closer with my peers. So me and a couple of other students made sure to make it known that we had to get this levy to pass and with enough push for the levy to pass we were able to keep our sports
