Northside Independent School District (San Antonio) Reviews
Northside Independent School District is both the 4th largest and one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas! Northside has amazing opportunities for success and is a place of much diversity and acceptance. Northside offers 5 different magnet schools geared towards specific industries, amazing sports programs, a vast amount of club and organizations to fit any interest, wonderful facilities, and teachers/administrators that are determined to provide you with all the skills you need to be successful in any career field!
Northside Independent School District is great. Being a military child, I have moved many times and experienced many different schools and school districts. Northside Independent School District is directly involved with its students and staff, and does everything in their power to make us welcome and satisfied in our community. There are so many things NISD has done for me, that no other school district could, and they worked with me to shape me into the young women I am to this day, and the one I’m becoming. NISD is top of the line, not only academically and sports-wise, but top in school spirit and blending and celebrating diversity. I love my experience with NISD!
Brennan High School is a generally clean and well maintained school when it comes to its facilities. The school is very focused on their successful sports teams-but that’s it. Teachers allow for students to cheat and administration supports retesting and inflated GPAs. Known throughout the school is the “Brennan Way.” The “Brennan Way” is the practice of retaking everything and not actually learning. Because this school is a mastery school, no one ever fails, therefore no one ever learns. Counselors are ill prepared and students are not college ready. As a soon to be senior who will be the first in her generation to attend college, I have no idea what to expect and I am already behind on college applications. I don’t know how the college process works and Brennan has done nothing to help me in that aspect. But hey- Brennan Fight Never Dies!
