I have enjoyed my time in the school system but I am very aware that since I left my elementary school/middle school, things have changed a lot. Currently, at NHS, we don't have a principal but honestly, things function pretty well. I really like both of our vice principals, they really are not afraid to get involved with teenagers which is really appreciated.
While every school has issues with administration I believe the community really makes this school memorable. We celebrate people from all walks of life and work to support arts, culture, and athletics. However my experience is from a white mans perspective so my experience will most likely differ.
Northampton High School provided me with excellent teachers who were very committed to their students. As a student-athlete, I had a great experience with participating in soccer in the Fall and indoor track in the Spring. There was never a time where I felt like I could not reach out to one of my teachers for extra help when I needed it. The students at Northampton High created a safe and welcoming environment for all types of students, making sure no one felt left out. There were many different clubs, sports, and organizations that students took part in, which made the high school stand out.
