Everything overall isn’t too bad but a handful of teachers aren’t that great when it comes to a classroom experience and handling homework. When it comes to the music department- it has gone downhill in the recent year along with little to no students participating in sports and clubs, not to mention the school only focuses on football while leaving the arts behind. There are still positives to the school but you have to look to find them considering the lower grades are becoming a big issue where all they want to do is fight and scream in the halls. I can tell the district tries but they need to listen to their students who actually care about school.
Overall I feel the Northampton Area School District is a very good school district. There are good attributes, as well as there being not so good attributes. Some areas can use improvement. I feel that the academics are very good along with the, teachers, diversity, clubs and activities, Music and Arts, Food, Facilities, Safety, Science, Technology, and math. Some attributes that need improvement is the school culture, resources, parent involvement, college readiness, and administration.
I have truly enjoyed my education at Northampton Area High school. I am a very involved student with clubs and sports. I played junior varsity volleyball during my freshman and sophomore seasons. I am still playing varsity lacrosse and will continue to play through my completion of high school. I have been playing since freshman year, and I started in fifth grade. I am also in Student Council, Volunteer Club, National Honor Society, and I am the secretary of Students Against Destructive Decisions. Also, I was in Angels in Disguise my freshman year.
