North Muskegon Public Schools Reviews
I love North Muskegon! The community is very small and close knit, but that is what I love about it. You are able to find connections through teachers, parents, and community members, and it is a great environment to learn and live!
My experience at North Muskegon was great. Great teachers who want you to succeed in not just their classroom, but outside of school also. North Muskegon High School to be specific, is one of the highest-ranked High Schools in Michigan. The classes are small which is good because you have easy access to the teachers when help is needed. A lot of extracurricular activities, and classes to pick from when a new semester begins. This gives many students opportunities to do something they probably did not think they'd have a chance to do which is always interesting. They prepare you for college, and even allow students as low as 9th grade to do dual enrollment at our local Muskegon Community College.
When I moved to North Muskegon at the beginning of my 8th-grade year I went from a class size of 400 kids to a class size of 90 kids. It was a big culture shock, but it was the best decision for me personally. A smaller school just worked better for me. We know all of our teachers on a personal level and they understand the ways that we learn best and out able to help us more proactively. I love that in our classrooms there are fewer students so it is easier to receive one on one help from our teachers for extra help that is needed outside of the classroom. The teachers and students welcomed me with open arms and kind hearts and it has been a home to me since the very first day I was in school.
