Overall, I loved my experiences at North Monterey County Unified School District. I believe I received the help and guidance I needed to get into college, but I have to admit that I also struggled in the beginning. It requires a large amount of self-advocacy to connect with coordinators because of their large caseloads. Through my determination, I was able to connect with many of my teachers and administrators, though that didn't make me ignore the reality that many of my peers were not receiving the same level of opportunities. I believe that the overall experience would have been enhanced if we added more coordinators, or were simply able to meet with them more often. More time to meet would enable coordinators to get to know their students more and discuss their desired pathway. Overall school culture if very united and welcoming. Teachers are loving and truly care about their students. More resources are slowly coming in, but access requires persistence in searching!

The thing that I liked about the North Monterey County Unified District was the steps they took to better their schools.Since I have been in the School district they have increased the accommodation the school offers and have given us more resources. For example they put in a new field in the High School which benefited the athletes of the school and it made the students excited to join the sports teams. They have also include new Parking space for student drivers and the staff. What I would like to see changed is the involvement with the students the district has made good decisions but there implement of the Integrated Science program was a bad decision since it took the opportunity of the students to take more focused class like biology.
The thing I liked the most about North Monterey County is that because of the relatively small population, most of the teachers and staff genuinely cares for students. In terms of improvement, school funding can definitely improve for supplies like textbooks and computers rather than a new football field.
