I really like how there is a small community, and you know everybody at school. It makes you close with everybody at school, and it makes for a lot closer connection. I was fortunate enough with being close with a lot of people at my high school. When I graduated it made all the goodbye's even harder.

What I didn't like about my school is the students didn't try and there was no diversity. Our curriculum for sports at North Iowa was absolutely horrible. The students knew they were bad so they didn't even care to try. My school was made of basically all white people, so I didn't get to see different people and all the different cultures. There were only a few teachers who cared, and the rest of the academics were absolutely terrible.

I really love the atmosphere and closeness at North Iowa Community School. Everyone around this area knows each other, but there are some things I would change. I wish teachers were more involved in student's lives. Most teachers don't care about how the student is feeling and it affects the students personally. If they were more involved in helping a student for the good of their future, instead of a paycheck, it would better. I have loved the time I've had here, I just wish the student-teacher connection was stronger and viable.
I think that some of the teachers really do try to teach the students, but sometimes the teachers aren't just harsh enough to get the student to pay attention. Many of the students don't come to school or do not pay attention in school. The school is set up very nice, you don't always realize that your are in a K-12 building unless you go past the middle school building to go to the lunchroom, gym, music/band, or to the business office. Overall they give lots of opportunities with the sports and extra curricular available. A lot of the time students just don't take the opportunities given to them to use them and the clubs and sports teams go to waste or go to a loosing record because we don't have enough participation or effort given.
