I have experienced my first year of Highschool as a freshman. It was nerve-wracking especially for it being our first year. You see, our high school is connected to our middle school through a bridge so i had a general knowledge of our library and science hall. My school offers the obvious history, math, science, and ela. But there is other opportunities including a choice of music or art for a year that you have to complete and can choose to continue. There is also many business related classes. We are required to take LOTE where you can choose between Spanish, French, or Tuscaroran. You are required to also take a gym class. I'd consider our highschool to give us more freedom such as letting us have our phones. The highschool is much larger compared to a lower education such as elementary and middle school. Most of the teachers are quite understanding and respectful of all races, sexualities, etc. Again, most. Overall it is a pretty proficient school education if you desire to go.
I feel as though I have been fortunate to have teachers who not only spread and share knowledge but spend their time investing in their students. I will look forward to the day when I student teach at Niagara Wheatfield Sr High School and eventually hold down a history teaching position in that very building. The high school has encouraged me to become involved. National Honor society, volunteer opportunities as well as immerse myself in not only high honors APP studies, but involvement in my flute playing and musicals and drama clubs. I am a proud falcon, just as my parents were and are.
Throughout my time in the district, I have had caring and oftentimes enthusiastic teachers who wanted to help me and their other students learn. That includes elementary and middle school as well as my high school experience. I have also participated in several activities including earning varsity letters in four different sports. My swim coach, Michael Corsaro, has been especially influential in my growth as an athlete but also as a person. There are several teachers who have had similar influences in my life. Though my interactions with the staff at the various schools has not been as close it has always been my experience that they too are not there just to do a job but they care for the children that they serve. My father also became active in the school district and the teachers and administrators have always been happy to allow him real input into those areas in which he has been involved.
