Valley. Where to begin. Like all high schools its full of drama and excitement. But at Valley the teachers care, they push you to succeed. They get you to go out for various sports teams. They'll drive you absolutely insane about finals and joke with you like they're your best friends. They'll listen to you and actually hear you. Valley prior to the pandemic was full of " Zoo Ken " fun. We'd pack the animal house (student section) for all sports games and matches. We'd have pep rally after pep rally supporting all of our teams. We'd pull together when in need, and have fun while doing it. If there is one specific thing Valley has taught me it is that you should never be ashamed of where you come from. Valley doesn't really have the best track record and is known for a lot if things but anywhere you got there will be an article about it somewhere. My high school experience at Valley has definitely been memorable and I can and always will be proud to say that I am a Valley Viking.
I think the school is an ok school. There are a lot of things wrong with this school, but there are some good things about it too. We have metal detectors and the system is very slow. I am marked late to school even when I’m on time, just because of the metal detectors. Some of the teachers do not care about the students at all. The curriculum could be better. We don’t really have a variety of classes. We are a very diverse school which is great! Our stadium is really nice. We have one of the nicer stadiums in the area. The school is like a family. We are all together especially the senior class. We have a lot of talent in the school, our musicals are always good.
I have always loved being at Valley. It is my home, and everyone is so nice and we are like a family. I will say that some teachers are definitely WAAAY better at their jobs than others. I can easily say that all of the English teachers at Valley are PHENOMENAL!!! They are all so passionate about their jobs, the students, and Valley overall. The Science teachers are pretty good as well, I learned a lot from them and I retained that knowledge as well. The math teachers can be a bit iffy. The Algebra teacher is great, I learned a lot in that class and she pushed me to really learn and retain that knowledge. That goes for the history teachers as well. The APUSH teacher is really good, but I don't think I really learned much before then.
