Rating 4.48 out of 5 21 reviews
New Hope-Solebury (NHS) is a very small high school, and I've seen a lot more benefits to that than negatives. NHS provides lots of opportunities to get involved in extracurriculars, leadership, and self-expression. Their academics are consistently ranked within the top 50 public schools in the state, and more often than not in the top 25. The faculty is very kind and willing to help all students. The sports programs at NHS are very small and are one of the weaker aspects of NHS, but the smaller environment gives everyone a chance to participate and for the stronger athletes to flourish. The smaller school environment allows for students to make friends easily within their classes and activities, and get involved in small groups through the many volunteer clubs at NHS. It seems as if all the staff members are on a collaborative mission to prepare the students for higher learning and they are succeeding in doing so. As a current student at NHS, I think NHS is one of the best!
The class size at New Hope is about 100 students, meaning that everyone knows everyone, and that reputations tend to stick. It is great that, because of the limited class size, I am able to form valuable connections with my teachers that make it easier to participate in the classroom and ask for help. However, it is frustrating knowing that, if something big happens in my life, everyone in school will know about it.
New Hope-Solebury School District holds a close-knit community where everyone knows everyone. The welcoming atmosphere provides a great education and adequately prepares alumni for college and the future!
