Mount Morris Central School District Reviews
Mount Morris central school is a school where I feel safe I love to love to go to school! To wake up and not be scared, to be nervous to go into a classroom with a teacher that is mean or students that are mean because for the first time in my life lib can say I love school and everybody in it, I don’t have to go home crying because of a student bullying me nor a teacher pin pointing me and what educational skills i have to offer! I have not had any reason to go to the principals office but if I had had to I know that our principle would not yell at me for the not so smart action I had but talk to me for how to avoid the problem again... Mount Morris school realizes there are better ways of communication than yelling and it sends a message! There isn’t much I would change at Mount Morris but I wish that students had a lunch period even though they have to leave for Boces early so that way being late to class isn’t a risk!
school is very small with many limitations including limited class options for students. academics are below average and students are not challenged resulting lack of college preparation. its difficult to find and retain top level teachers. the school offers maybe 2 or 3 college credit classes, not nearly enough to provide students with amply credit to transfer to college. there are limited clubs and sports teams for students to participate in. some sports teams have to merge with local schools due to lack of participates to field a team. the school has received a number of upgrades and renovations over the years making the facility one of the top in the area. technology in classrooms is good.
It was a very personal and welcoming place to go to school. Class sizes were small and all the teachers were helpful, friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help students.
