What I like about my school district is it’s small and everyone knows each other. However, because we’re small we don’t get funded much money to our schools which makes it hard on us when we need important materials to help improve our schools. This year we just had enough money to fix our bathroom sinks that had been broken for over four years. Also just this past year our drinking fountain was examined and studies showed that their was lead is our water. Even though we are a poor school we see the good in it the memories our school has brought us.
As a school district that consists of only small schools in small towns, Morrow County School District does quite well for themselves compared to others. From my own personal experiences, they can do much better. Whether it's the lack of funding, lack of support for students, bullying, racism, or average learning experience, there are many flaws within the system, as most systems are. I believe there could be better discipline for disruptive students (Bullying, Assault, Disruptive Actions & Behavior, Etc.) instead of focusing on small things that do not improve the lives of any students. (Dress Code, Tradies, Etc.) As well as improving the experience & salary for the teachers so they are much more motivated to give the students what they need to learn. Overall, Morrow County School District is VERY average both in themselves and my own experience, as well as many others. Much can be improved upon and I hope to see said improvements being implemented in the future.
The Morrow County school district is comprised of outstanding teachers who strive to make their students even better. Of my experience at Heppner High school I know that each and every teacher is willing to "bend over backwards" to ensure that each student become the best that they can be. If I ever need help with anything I know that the Morrow County School district is always willing and happy accommodate.
