Awesome school system! Our children have been very well supported and presented so many opportunities! Great Schools, staff and leadership!
I appreciate the opportunities that are available in Morgan County Schools: High School Advanced Placement opportunities; District-wide Art Showcases; District-wide plays; Morgan County Schools Foundation scholarships; a variety of sports offerings; teachers that care; communication through School Status, Facebook, and the MCS Website; Alabama Math & Science Technology Initiative, Blue Ribbons Schools of Excellence, clubs, and the advisory program where a teacher is connected with students and communicates once a month about the progress of my children.
Morgan County schools are doing the best they can. The problem is that the county has so many economic challenges. The students whose parents aren't doing as well often miss out on opportunities for sports or other after-school activities because of a lack of reliable transportation. Most of the students live in rural areas that are too far from the school to travel without a vehicle. So unless they have a parent (or other adult) who can transport them after school hours they miss out on these things. Also, many sports and other things are simply to expensive for these families.
