Throughout my years of attending Moreno Valley Unified School District, I can't say it really was life-changing! There were some teachers that definitely stuck out and pushed you! My 9th-grade math teacher was one of my biggest inspirations throughout highschool. She helped me so much with improving myself and academics.

For a typical high school student, high school in this district was average. I had opportunities for clubs and AP classes, all things that would help me when applying to a 4 year university. However, for my autistic brother, pursuing an education in this district has been nothing but difficult. The district proves to be uncooperative and unhelpful. The teachers here would try to dismiss my brother's academic goals from his IEPs and when my mother tried to correct them, they would relentlessly dismiss her. It has gotten to the point that my mother has to reach out to other organizations for counsel, when the district is suppose to be the one helping her achieve the proper education my brother desperately needs. We've even had to hire a lawyer to get what my brother needs, and my family cannot handle that type of financial burden. The district can handle a typical student but fails to accommodate for its special needs students.
When I moved to Moreno Valley District, it was extremely welcoming. The amount of friendliness I felt from the the teachers, administration, and students was outstanding. The principal and counselors always checked with me to see how I was adjusting to the new school. The teachers and administration is very open-minded and understanding to every students' situation. The demographics of the the district is a little diverse, the majority being hispanic, black then white. This school offers a lot of academic opportunities such a honors, AP , and dual enrollment courses. . All the parents join together for many events. There is an entire performing arts section of the school that they just built for choir, theater, band and other performing arts. Overall, the Moreno Valley district has created a lot of new facilities and events for students in order to give them a lot of opportunities.
