I have had an overall good experience at Montville Township High School. I have had the opportunity to take classes that challenge and push me. I am also involved in several extra curricular activities, such as the literary magazine, chamber orchestra, speech and debate team, etc. I have enjoyed these extra curriculars but it requires good planning to balance these activities. Perhaps something that made my ranking slightly lower is my experience during covid. Social activities were not present during this time for obvious reasons, but somehow teachers became stricter and gave more assignments and tests during this difficult time. However, I do appreciate the variety of classes offered at the high school and the quality of education we are receiving. I have gotten the opportunity to explore different areas of interests and figure out what I may want to pursue one day past high school. My AP classes are also making me feel prepared for college.
During my time at Montville I have been able to enjoy quality classes with well qualified and engaging teachers. I have also been able to gain many close friends and I personally have not had any experiences with bullying here but I do know of a few students who have and our counselors and administrators have been less than helpful when dealing with the situations. Our school also does not provide many student activities that many others due for example our only dance is a senior prom at the end of our final year. Our school is not very affective at problem solving for example our spring pep rally was canceled because the decorations weren’t finished yet and our most recent midterm schedule had midterms at the same time as classes. Over all I would say my experience was pretty average nothing bad but nothing amazing. All of my truly amazing experiences at the school have been solely due to the efforts of individual teachers with a passion for their job.
My experience is overall positive. I can definitely say that I have made a lot of friends from Montville. A lot of the teachers, especially in the science wing have a lot of passion for what they do. They all are incredibly nice and understanding as people. I have learned a lot from them and shared a lot of good memories in the many science classes that I took.
