The faculty are dedicated to pushing students to become better and grow as people, even outside of the subject matter. The flexibility in scheduling with the adaptation of block scheduling and after-school help also allows students time for more focused and personalized learning. One overarching issue with the school is the incredible focus on statistics and numbers, which can often be prioritized over student health and well-being. By no means is it negligence, but the incredibly competitive atmosphere coupled with administrations that understandably want to maintain stellar numbers in comparison to other schools nationwide can foster feelings of inadequacy for the students that aren't taking the maximum amount of APs or extracurriculars. Overall, a great school that prepares people for the future, albeit with a few issues to work out.
I work in the transportation department. They pay us well and the benefits are great. The buses and the transportation depot are new. But it’s like Peyton Place here. Our supervisor takes more days off than anyone in the district but he fired a bus aide for taking too much time off. And she lost her son but he didn’t care. Our dispatcher is very distracted with the maintenance guy that she’s involved with. We really need HR to step up and inforce a dating policy. This isn’t the first time for her and we have a driver who wound up marrying a maintenance guy that she hooked up with from here. I hate to sound like a prude but the tax payers aren’t paying for “quid pro quo”. These people should be focused working not dating.
We had a driver fail the random drug test and we all wonder why he isn’t fired. Everyday we have at least 10 people out only exception is the week b4 Xmas because they want their tips. The mechanics keep the garage bays very clean and they help us a lot.

Being a part of Montgomery High School for all 4 years has given me the opportunity to experience true unity. The district is very diverse, and the environment is welcoming. Students and teachers alike, are supportive of one another. There are also a lot of opportunities offered, in terms of clubs, sports and courses. The one thing that I would love to change is the competitiveness and self-pressure that is a part of the school district.
