For starters, the teachers are amazing. Of course, no matter where you go, you will get a few teachers who you never want to see again but for the most part, Monroe Township has as little of those as possible. Every school from pre-school all the way up to high school has a clear cut mission to give students the best education and overall school experience that they can. As a college freshman I truly have nothing bad to say about the Monroe Township school district. Not only is it a great school for academics but it's a very connected and diverse community. There are also so many extracurricular activities for students to get involved with!

This school helps prepare students for various future paths particularly through the integration of advanced technology. Through the distribution of iPads and the use of apps, students become comfortable implementing technology into their daily work, something I came to appreciate in college, which required me to constantly check my teacher's websites and electronically hand in assignments. In addition, this school provides senior students the opportunity to supplement a course for real-world experience in an internship, job shadow, or mentorship position for credit. Students that take advantage of this opportunity graduate with a sense of confidence in what they want, or more importantly don't want, to do after receiving their diploma. Although this school needs to expand to accommodate a growing student population, it overall adequately prepares students for future success.
I would describe my experience in the Monroe Township School district as average. The elementary schools are great, middle school is when you start to feel a little pressure, by the time your junior year hits, that is when the heat is really on! The teachers are so focused on making sure that most of the students do well on the PARCC, they lost sight of the fact that we are actually people that don't all learn the same way. Halfway through my junior year, I could not take the pressure anymore, I decided I needed to take my education into my own hands. I stated my case to my parents and we decided that homeschooling was the way to go. My mom was extremely nervous about it but I knew that I would succeed. I am happy to say that I will be attending a University in the fall and on my way to a successful future.
