Midway Independent School District (Henrietta) Reviews

3 reviews
I moved to Midway ISD halfway through my eighth grade year. I moved from a larger school, so there was a small bit of shock when I only had nine kids in my grade. Due to the small class sizes, teachers have opportunities to have more one-on-one time with the student, but I do not feel like that has been used to it's full potential to further benefit students' academics. The small school also results in a lot of people coming and going. For example, this year is the third principal, second Agriculture teacher, and second coach that I have had during my time attending Midway. There is not a teacher that does not care for the well-being of all the students and want to be working there. I also do believe that there is a lack of technological resources compared to several other larger schools. On the other hand, Midway offers to pay 100% of dual credit costs if you make an A. This is very helpful for those, such as me, who plan on being in college for several years.

As a small school, Midway ISD has a deep connection between the faculty and students. With my teachers' influence and support, I have managed to be the best person I can be both academically and creatively. With numerous projects to heighten and demonstrate my skills, I now want to broaden my artistic ability in the animation field. Hopefully, I'll be in California working under the genius of the Disney/Pixar studios. However, one negative of Midway ISD is that there is not an art class or anything of the sort except theatre arts and computer design. One class I wish I could've taken at Midway would be an actual art class that branches into all art forms; drawing, sketching, painting, sculpting, etc.
Midway is a great small school with a great atmosphere! The small classes make it great for better one on one with teachers. I do however wish that Midway had more activities to offer as far as music or band things like that for people who dont play sports.
