As a whole, the Midlothian Independent School District has a lot of work to be done. From my experience, the teachers are unmotivated and do not have structure to their methods of teaching. Many of my teachers gave the bare minimum amount of effort in teaching and I had to learn a lot of the material on my own. In a way, however, this proved to be beneficial teaching me the best ways to do my own research. Even though I've had some poor quality teacher, I've also had my fair share of amazing ones. The different courses offered are very diverse and there is an amazing health science department. Unfortunately, the general science and health science departments are not used to their full potential due to the inability to fund more in depth and hands on labs.
I have been within this district since kindergarten and have thoroughly enjoyed it here. Most of my teachers that I have had really made sure that I grasped onto the topic and understood it. The only thing I did not enjoy was when they would just give us busy work, or even some teachers not prepare us at all. Most teachers didn't do that, just a few. Other than that, I felt prepared because of how awesome these teachers here are!
Midlothian High School has been an excellent experience with almost no problems at all. The school has a very expansive structure full with plenty of room. MHS also has great covid-19 awareness, and the technology to protect the student from the virus. Every teacher I have come across really enforces there social distancing rules and always has sanitizer for the students, which is a very commendable trait of this school, especially in these trying times.
