I love the community in McKinney! I especially love the love and support my school shows to the community and the members of our school. This past summer a friend of mine, Aaron Hill, passed and the community came together to support him and his family by raising money for his funeral, friends, and family. Everything about McKinney is great!

This district caters to the needs of the students. For example, they provide all of the high school students with macbooks for a small price of $50. This allows the students to both keep up with homework and outside resources that can help them excel in their classes. The schools also pay the majority of the AP test fees, which allows more students to partake in higher level courses and tests. These programs have helped my family a lot. If it wasn't for these generous programs, I wouldn't have been able to take the 9 AP classes and tests I have taken and my brother and I would have had to share a laptop.
A shooting occurred in one of the high schools two years ago, which caused the next year to be filled with unified anxiousness. Instead of addressing it, they kept their plans hushed and didn't properly address their plans to resolve the issues. Besides the lack of communication, I believe this is one of the best districts to learn in
I have lived in the MISD school district and attended their schools all my life, from Wolford Elementary, to McKinney Dowel Middle school, to McKinney Boyd High School. Most of my Teachers were amazing and were always dedicated us students, and going above and beyond to make sure each student passed. They all Accommodated for learning ADD, which helped me through all my classes and allowing me to graduate to college. The only complaint I have is Boyd not winning enough football games and the food was average.
