My child attended Southland College Prep High School. He is currently a freshmen at University of Mizzou. The school hours(7:30am-5:00pm) and rigor at his high school definitely prepared him for college. He was involved on the basketball team and their Kappa League team. He states his high school prepared him for the task of "multi-juggling" different classes, extracurricular activities, and a social life at college, the he otherwise may not have been prepared for if he had not attended Southland.
Matteson School District 162 is a fine establishment. Under Dr. Blondean Davis they continuously elevate to new heights. The schools within their system are constantly evolving and growing. Potential and student ideas are encouraged and well funded. It is a predominantly African American district so even through diversity may be sparce there is a sense of community and family. Family continues to be the districts main theme as we all uplift each other. The experiences there are some of the best life can offer.
It’s very decent. Never had a problem in my 13 years of being a student in this district. It was fun & I would totally recommend.
