I would say that overall Mason City is a great school. There are only a few teachers for every grade level that don't represent Mason City well. However, compared to the teachers that do it's nothing. I loved going there. If you want to have a good high school experience its definitely possible. As for younger grades I really recommend either Hoover or Rosevelt. I have special needs siblings and I have observed for student teaching at both schools and thought that they catered to the needs of their students well.
Mason City Community School District is a great district all around. I have been here since kindergarten and will be graduating next year. The teachers at Mason City are beyond devoted to helping kids learn and building their passion for learning. Not only that, here at Mason City you can pursue a passion in many areas of learning and extracurricular. Overall Mason City Community School District is an amazing place to be. I am proud to be able to say I went here.
I like all the different choices of courses that I have. Something that I would like to see change is teachers and staff being more aware of the behind the scenes bullying and meaness that goes on with students, teachers, and coaches. Teachers and coaches are supposed to be there for support and encouragement, not to make things harder for you.
