As someone who has attended Martin County Schools her whole k-12 career, your success and opportunities all depend on who you are and who you know. Overall we have very good programs and opportunities for kids, but if the people over them don’t present these to all kids and only some then it really doesn’t do us any good.
I think that the teachers were very kind and involved with the students in Martin County Public Schools. However, I believe there were not enough opportunities for a variety of classes. There were little choices in foreign language, for example. I would have liked to have more to choose from during the time I was attending school.
Our resources such as water, food, and academic supplies are at a low. Our district is located in the Appalachia,an area drowning in poverty. Our water infrastructure is the worst it has ever been. People went without water for months while others used water that has been proven to cause cancer. This affects our school district a lot.
