Marshall Schools primarily show their pride in a small town through student sections and sports teams. Many athletes thrive with the excessive practices and reputation. Money determines if you can do most extracurriculars; so there is not many options if you struggle with either money or athleticism. Those students tend to struggle to express themselves in this high school. Perhaps more opportunities and support for the arts and technology would help. The schools themselves are good quality. Academics are well with equal amounts of perfect and not so perfect grade averages. English classes are taught very well. Our administration lacks involvement where it really matters. Each year tolerance of behavior decreases. Multiple physical, verbal, and online fights and bullying occur each week. Administration continues to avoid punishing the students; and teachers at times. However, there is a handful of wonderful teachers that myself and others can trust and feel welcomed around. Thank you
One thing that I like about Marshall High School is that small number of students allows for a more personal high school experience. For example, I got to know almost all of the kids in my graduating class this past year. There are also several teachers who show in interest in the students’ lives and futures, which contributes to a warm and inviting classroom environment. However, as with all high schools, there are obvious flaws. I don’t believe that Marshall High School did a good job of preparing for the 2020-2021 school year with the Covid-19 pandemic. Most teachers did a poor job of teaching class materials to students who were learning from home. I believe that this was due to lack of preparation for the school year, as well as a lack of knowledge of technology that was used to teach students online.
Overall, I think that Marshall High School did a fairly good job of of safely getting through my sophomore year of high school without any major issues or problems.

The High-school I attended had nice points to it, but there are somethings that could be changed to better the school overall. Such as, updated bathrooms to make them more comfortable and clean for the students and faculty. Another thing would be more updated technology and resources that can be utilized to further help educate the students. Also bringing in more reading into the English classes instead of other work. I say this because I think it’s important and can really widen student’s vocabulary and they are more prone to pay attention and actually get involved in the class.
