Marietta City Schools is an excellent school system, particularly their IB program. I've had a fantastic experience as a student taking the IB Diploma program, with plenty of resources and facilities being readily available to aide me. The teachers and staff are very respectful and knowledgeable, and assist students in any way they can, either educationally or emotionally. The overall college readiness resources are very good as well, with 2 dedicated college advisors on campus available to take appointments for any questions a student or parent may have. They also provide lists of scholarship opportunities and hold seminars and boot camps regarding college admission, guiding both students and parents through the confusing and stressful process of applying to college. The environment of the school is excellent, with a well maintained campus and new state of the art building dedicated for CTAE/STEM courses. There is an abundance of rigor courses available, with both IB and AP classes.
Marietta City Schools is overall an exceptional school district. it is very obvious the superintendent cares about what's best for the schools and chooses faculty with the same mindset. The teachers show they care for students and want the best for them. There are many different pathways to choose from which allows students to get a feel for what they want to do in life. There are also many different athletic and volunteer opportunities. The school is very involved with the community and vice versa.
Unfortunately Marietta City Schools treat information as a need to know basics. Not all information is available to everyone. Administration, staff and teachers fail to make sure all students are kept informed about important information. It’s feels as though it’s by design. College advisement, College prep, clubs, trips ect. Even the weekly news letter is designed with the important info way at the bottom hidden and the football information at the top. Go figure
