After I moved to Manheim Township a few years ago, it was a little rough as far as making friends and getting used to the area; however, all of this changed as I started to get more involved with the school. There are so many opportunities within sports, clubs, and events. I joined the Astronomy Club at Manheim Township, and I was surprised by all of the easily accessible technology. My group got to put together telescopes for the younger students in the elementary schools. Manheim Township also is known for their athletics, especially lacrosse and football. The education I received through this school has opened up many doors to me, whether that be through an influential teacher or through the context of the learning material. Manheim Township high school has recently been ranked within the top 500 high schools of America, and I am not at all surprised!
My time at Manheim Township has been great! Besides the typical teenage drama, I feel that I have really gotten a full high school experience. My school offers a diverse array of classes and have had the privilege of taking advantage of these course. Furthermore, school events never disappoint. I have so many memories from pep rallies and dances that I will treasure forever. Overall, I feel comfortable and able to thrive in Manheim Townships environment and am grateful to be a part of this community. One thing, however, I hope to see change in the future is the balance between girls and boys sports. Title 9 is important to me and sports culture in schools nationwide, and I hope to see both sports valued more equally by the school in coming years.
I am so appreciative to Manheim Township for my school and extracurricular experience throughout elementary, middle, and high school. The resources provided by the school district were numerous. Various opportunities are offered to students in a diverse number of disciplines. The teachers love their jobs and truly want their students to soak up the material taught and succeed in school and life. Through leadership roles I have held in high school, I have been afforded the chance to work closely with the administrators. They are resilient in dealing with challenges, especially ones presented due to Covid, and are creative in ways to maintain a welcoming and unified environment. They foster a rigorous learning atmosphere, while providing students a variety of clubs, sports programs, musical endeavors, and more to participate in. I am thankful for everything Manheim Township has offered me.
