Manheim Central HS is a school with lots of potential, but bigger cogs in their system lack the sense to channel it. Focused on students "taking responsibility for their education," they call them "learners" and teachers "learning facilitators." For this reason, teachers are either fantastic, willing to do anything to produce an inspiring lesson, or bad, disregarding students as people and breezing through their poorly-written curriculums. That said, the English curriculum is especially bad for those wanting something more advanced. Taking ten English credits, each class available at 10th grade was generalized for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
Past that, the only important sport to the district is football, forget funding for any other sport; The band is awesome, laptops are awful; Construction work is loud and uninspiring; The district is becoming more diverse, but students have become increasingly inconsiderate and disinterested; A lack of staff nobody fixes; Most lunches suck.

I have been apart of the Manheim Central School district since elementary school. If there is one great thing about the Manheim Central School District it's that the district has a great relationship. It really is like one big happy family, especially with its clubs and organizations. My time spent in the high schools marching band, student council, and theater program has taught me the power of relationships in the district. Where ever you look, you will always have a friend, or teacher, or parent that will help you through whatever problem you face. In the end, I could not imagine going to any other district. Or rather, I could not imagine being apart of any other family.
I have attended this school district all my life. The education is fine, there are many opportunities to take Advanced Placement classes. The atmosphere is very conservative amongst the student body. There are always outliers though, at there were some places where everyone could be accepted. Minorities were scarce at Manheim, as most of the populous are white.
