I love how close-knit students are with each other, since most have grown up with each other! Some things I would change would be the variety of classes, such as more honor classes for upperclassmen and more elective. However, I can see MPCS improving towards bigger and better things for the next generation to , hopefully, benefit from!

I have been attending the Manassas Park school systems since I was 5 years old starting Kindergarten. At my time here I've encountered a unique diversity among people. Here at Manassas Park many students have different heritages, backgrounds, and cultures. This makes a unique community different from many other communities. As I progressed through the school grades I encountered many different teachers all who are different from each other. Many of the teachers are involved and devoted to teaching and want to see their students succeed ( as long as you do your work). However at my time here I have also encountered teachers who aren't really well suited to teach and don't have any devotion to their profession. I would like to see a change and have random check ins on the teachers in order to see if they are able to teach a class. I hope one day this issue can be fixed .
The MPCS school board often displayed brazen incompetence and shortsightedness. For instance, the board approved the construction of an exorbitantly expensive K-5 "green" campus despite the rapid and exponential growth of the city's population requiring the expansion of existing educational facilities and resources. MPHS also lacked a sufficient variety of non-athletic extra-curricular activities and clubs.
That being said, the teachers whilst I was there were fantastic. They genuinely cared about their students and were both enthusiastic and knowledgable about the material that they were teaching.
