I thoroughly enjoyed every second I spent in the Maize District. I attended school in the Maize district from Kindergarten to my Senior year of high school. Maize is a small community that encourages friendships, compassion, kindness, and togetherness. Throughout all of my school years, I had countless teachers encouraging me and pushing me to be the best student I could be. Not only were the teachers and other faculty helping me to become a better student, but they were also my family when my family life at home wasn't as great. I had many teachers and other staff become mentors to me and offered sound wisdom and words of encouragement each day. As my parents went through a divorce and my home life started becoming worse and worse, attending school each day was my safe haven. The faculty was always there with open arms and lots of love to give. I hope in the future when I start a family, I can raise my kids in the Maize district where I know they will be loved and cared for each day.
I enjoyed attending the Maize Unified School District, everyone there are so kind. We welcome everyone to our school, no matter what we will help you out. We enjoy helping others, every year at Maize High School we volunteer at least one full day. At Maize we have a Maize Career Academy, they have a variety of pathways such as: Health Field, Engineering, Culinary, Graphic Design and much more.
I'm grateful and glad to have a rigorous and fulfilling academic career at Maize High, as well as the opportunity to take both dual credit and college classes that correlate and allow me to explore different careers and jobs. One of the things the school district should do is focus less on athletics and more on the arts, as the school produces AMAZING plays and are filled with talented artists. Another critique is the academic rigor of the elementary and middle schools; I feel as if the rigor has greatly diminished since I was in 6th grade, making it an easy time for some of the incoming freshmen
