I'm grateful and glad to have a rigorous and fulfilling academic career at Maize High, as well as the opportunity to take both dual credit and college classes that correlate and allow me to explore different careers and jobs. One of the things the school district should do is focus less on athletics and more on the arts, as the school produces AMAZING plays and are filled with talented artists. Another critique is the academic rigor of the elementary and middle schools; I feel as if the rigor has greatly diminished since I was in 6th grade, making it an easy time for some of the incoming freshmen

I have lived in Maize, Kansas all my life. I have gone to Maize District schools my whole life as well. My experiences at school have been nothing short of amazing. I have never had a bad teacher in my mind. All the teachers I have had or have talked to are trying to help all of their students to the best of their ability. I have been in the gifted program in the district since 4th grade and it has been amazing. Through the program I have learned so much more than I ever thought I would. I have had a lot of guidance through school and have gotten so much help on college related things. I love going to and living in Maize, Kansas and if I could, I would want my children in the future to go to Maize schools.
I moved to Maize High School in my senior year of high school. It was a very scary experience because it was a bigger school and I didn't believe that I would fit it. To my surprise, Maize High School was a very welcoming school. It has a diverse school with much after-school activity for all types of students. Even though the school is bigger, the teacher has small classes which help them be more involved with their student.
