Maine Township High School District No. 207 Reviews
I attended Maine East High School which is a school in the 207 district. I am on the verge to graduate and move on to a college very shortly. My time at Maine East was quite excellent because the teachers really cared about the students education and their well being. Whenever I needed help with homework/an assignment, the teachers were always there to assist me. The teachers definitely led to my success throughout high school earning honor roll every year and being eligible to join the National Honor Society. Maine East has an EXCELLENT education system, probably the best in the whole district no doubt about it. If you attend this school and are truly dedicated, then you will succeed. One thing I feel like Maine East can improve on is definitely remodeling the whole school because it looks so old compared to the other schools in the district. Other than that, Maine East is a school to be at!
Many teachers truly want to see students succeed and will do their best to help you if you're struggling or reach out. Something that helped me a lot was connecting with my counselor and dean early Freshman year because they became familiar with me and reached out to ask how I was doing throughout the rest of high school. The students are generally friendly, although there isn't much diversity; being Asian in a predominantly Caucasian population wasn't a major setback. Since it's a big school, finding your way around may take a bit of time, but the staff in the halls will gladly help you out. The only things I have to complain about are the roaches and some distasteful teachers who don't connect with their students.
Honestly, Maine South is an amazing school. From the security guards, to those in the administration offices, to the teachers, and to everybody else who helps to make the school what it is, I could not have had a better experience elsewhere. Clearly, with the 5 star review, I had an incredible time in and outside of the classroom. However, all good things do come to an end and even though high school is ending for me, my time of reflection recognizes the good times but the good times did not always warrant easy times. There was never a class where I felt it was too hard or too easy. Also, resources like the tutoring centers and office hours in all departments is what makes Maine South a great learning environment. I genuinely felt that my teachers cared more about my retention of knowledge rather than the grade on the exam. Overall, my four years of classes in all different subjects and departments has given me the ability to accurately generalize Maine South as a 5/5 high school.
