As a senior, my experience at Macon County High School has been great. Majority of the teachers are very involved in my academics and they pressure me in the best ways. They want what is best for me and most will do anything in their power to help me succeed. The high school has an amazing teaching program, it is called Teaching as a Profession (TAP). This program has three classes with an additional class that introduces you to the history of teaching and types of teaching. I really enjoyed this program. The high school has an amazing guidance counselor, she goes out of her way all of the time for the seniors. She looks into each and every senior's profile and helps us with anything that has to do with college. There are definitely bullying problems, more than there needs to be. They do discipline, however; I feel as if they discipline the wrong students sometimes. Other than that the Macon County School system is great.

Macon County has a very rich sense of school pride. Everyone knows everyone. This small town feature allows students to support one another regularly and love one another wholeheartedly. However, we need better resources and facilities in order to become better.
The Macon County School District is very tight knit with the community. It is a good resource for a small-town education. The teachers and administration are always ready to help their students. The school district does lack in a few areas. There is not a large, growing diversity. The academics is some categories seem to be "unready" and sub-standard. Overall the school
district seems very average.
