Lumpkin County Schools Reviews
I would like to see more focus on Academics rather than sports but many of the teachers are excellent. Generally, the atmosphere is wonderful. There have been lots of advancements throughout the school in different programs which is wonderful. I feel if there was a more stable administration team the school would really benefit.
The facilities and resources are improving at a slow rate. I have always found bullying rates low. The teachers and coaches show favoritism to other teacher's children or to students they go to church with. The administrators and counselors are often unhelpful. It can go either way with teachers some care a lot can try hard to care for their student's education, while others don't care at all. It is even more of a toss-up since many of the best teachers have moved to other school systems with higher salaries.
Lumpkin County High School is mediocre. Even saying that is a huge stretch. The community lacks so much. The school lacks even more. Little to no diversity. Extremely clique- ridden. Zero support for clubs. The sport teams are god awful. If you have old money and your family name is well known, you will be fine. If you are even slightly different from anything "normal", then beware!
