I have been enrolled in the Lucia Mar Unified School District for all 12 years of my education and it has been a great experience for me. I cannot begin to describe all of the wonderful teachers that have influenced me in my educational career and motivated and inspired me to learn and grow. I respect every teacher in this district and admire their hard work and dedication to each school I have been apart of. I have always felt accepted by the staff at the schools in this district that I was apart of and I knew I would always have an outlet to go to if I ever needed help. As I graduate high school this year, I feel prepped and ready for the next level in school and in life as I continue on in my education.
I have had a very good experience at Lucia Mar Unified School District so far. I transferred into the district my freshman year of high school, and have attended Arroyo Grande High School since then. The teachers and academics are excellent, and there are many opportunities to get involved with the school and other students, such as many great sports teams, a multitude of inspiring and fun clubs, and classes with engaging curriculum.
I really like the college readiness program at Lucia Mar, especially at Central Coast New Tech High School. I think they have a great sports program across all of their high schools, and have up kept campuses. I also really like the counselors and college resources they offer. If I were to want one thing to change, it would be funding towards sports, I think that water polo and swim are very underfunded, we really need some new equipment. Not only that, the high school campuses have a pretty bad drug problem, if that were to get more attention I think it would improve the quality of the overall high school experience.
