The school system encouraged students to learn and be the best they can be. Big enforcement on the "no child left behind policy", made kids feel as if they will all succeed no matter what the circumstances are. A change that could happen would be possibly changing dress code. In my opinion, the dress code is gender biased. Overall, the system is a good place to be and I would chose it over the city schools any day!

Lowndes County Schools provide an excellent educational opportunity to those who work hard. The heart of Lowndes County Schools is to educate to the best of one's ability every student that walks through their doors. This attitude is reflected from the superintendent on down. Lowndes County is constantly striving to improve, excel, and lead others through equipping students with the necessary educational fundamentals that will see them through life. In the Lowndes County School System, everyone learns from everyone. The concepts of teamwork and self responsibility are taught hand in hand.
I had a very different experience than most people I talk to who went to different schools. The culture was a lot more progressive than normally expected. There weren't really cliques or gangs where anyone wasn't welcome. The jocks were considerate and the teachers/coaches were supportive. We were raited amongst the highest in pretty much every competitive field, so that helped morale. There were a large amount of clubs and activities, and were open to more. I was in advanced classes and do not feel like I was prepared for college, although I hear this is a norm even for big city high schools. I cannot rate on the parent involvement aspect as my parents were not available for anything. I thought the food was good, but not many people agreed with me. I would definitely recommend to others, and even feel good about enlisting my kids there someday.
