Live Oak Unified School District Reviews
Live Oak High school is extremely diverse and all inclusive. Our teachers care about our well-being and the education quality is outstanding. However, because of our socioeconomically disadvantaged area we live in, I would love to see more grants being given for better extra curriculars and sports options.
I have been living in Live Oak for the past thirteen years and I have atended all schools of the Live Oak Unified School District. All schools from Luther Elementary to Live Oak High are great schools. They are small school in the town of Live oak and are very divers schools over all. There are students that come from Mexico to China to South America. All students know each other and there are no serious problems. They are very advanced in technology and academics. They help us with college with AVID, Upward Bound and ETS (Educational Talent Search). There are many clubs and organizations at Live Oak High. For example we have Key Club, Spanish Honors Society, Environmental Club, Friday Night Live, CSF and many more clubs around campus. Sports are a very big deal at our school especially with football and basketball along with track, tennis and soccer. Overall, our town is small but with very bright and intelligent people.
I love the unity and ethnical diversity of Live Oak. However, the high school is only preparing students to graduate high school, not setting them up for college. Only about 14 percent of the students that graduate from Live Oak High School are considered "college ready".
