All districts and schools are what you make of them. From the best districts to the not so great, there are always going to be those teachers who are ineffective. Getting rid of them cost way too much money and is near impossible.
That being said, my family and I have had great experiences in the district. With the support of our parents who value education and invested time in our academic achievements and success, we continue to live in the community that brought us so much happiness growing up.
Having worked in some of the top rated school districts on Long Island, at home support and parental interest is what makes you successful. Don't be ignorant and place blame, instead take accountability!

I have really enjoyed being a student at Lindenhurst High School as well as the Middle School and elementary schools. I think that the teachers are great, especially in the high school, the AP classes have very high passing rates that are above average. I think that they should take more into consideration of the opinions and the ideas of the student body.
I think we have great clubs and teams available to join and plenty of opportunities to get involved. We have a lot of great teachers, but some not-so-great ones as well. We have opportunities to succeed, but I would like to see change/improvements in the condition of the building.
