Lewis County School District Reviews
Hohenwald is a small town, so many of the students and teachers have a small town upbringing. Faculty and students respect each other and have good manners (when they want to). The only thing I would change is the way they "reward and punish" students--for example, our recent attendance incentive. Instead of just punishing the students who fail to attend school, they're rewarding the students who simply come to school. Those of us who aren't skipping and actually have excused absences (like surgeries or a death in the family) are still lumped together with the "wrongdoers" and are being punished for circumstances we cannot help.
Lewis country high school does not prepare their students for college like they tell their students. They do not teach you proper time management, study, or work skills. I feel that their main emphasis is on the sports, mainly football. They need to fix this and help their students become more prepared for college.
Although there are some things that can be improved upon with our school system, my overall experience has been very good.
