Lester Prairie Public School District Reviews

3 reviews
Lester prairie school districts is very much stuck in the past. Most of my classmates throughout the school are racist, homophobic, and transphobic to some extent and as a queer student it always puts me down hearing another kid call someone 'gay' or 'queer' as an insult. It's a big reason I've never come out to any of my classmates. We have little to no awareness of our actions and words, and the political views are radically conservative to the point of it being scary. I feel unsafe being my true self around them, and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Everyone is almost always on their phones or doing inappropriate things on their chrome books. There are a few good teachers, but not all of them are. One time the choir director threw a trash can across the room. Another time he threw a music stand down. Another time he threw his sheet music across the room. He holds no control over his senior high or junior high choir and the rest of the school isn't much better.

Lester Prairie school is one of the best schools in the country it is small enough so all of the teachers know you and the administration is fantastic. All staff are so supportive and help us with any problems we have. We do not have any bullying in the school and it is a very safe place. It is hard to not do well and the teachers will not let you fail. Lester Prairie schools has grown and really done some good things to the building in recent years. It really would be nice if they had more gym space and the sports field down by the school.
Very small school which limits clubs and activities. Also a growing school in desperate need of an expansion. Teachers are literally teaching out of closets.
